If you use Outlook edition and mark some of your Outlook calendar items for sync to salesforce, you'll soon find that it won't sync multi-day calendar items. Here's what salesforce support has to say: "With Outlook Edition 2.0, you cannot synchronize events that have a duration of longer than 24 hours. Multi-day events that are created as a single event of a long duration are not supported with this product."
Here's a great work around they suggested
Instead of scheduling a multi-day calendar item in Outlook, schedule a daily appointment recurrence in Outlook. So, if you're going to Dreamforce on Sept. 16-19th, you'd set up a single day appointment in Outlook for Sept. 16th that lasts from 8am-10pm. Then click the "Recurrence" button, and set the recurrence to "Daily", "Every 1 day", "End By 9/19/2007". Then Save and Mark for Sync. these individual items will now properly sync to your salesforce calendar.
